Shoutin’ from the Rooftop

When I was contacted by Kellogg’s about offering a giveaway on my site, they asked if I would like to try the new Special K Low Fat Granola. I had heard some good things about this cereal but had not been able to find it in any stores yet. So I took Kellogg’s  up on their offer. The girls & I were excited when the box arrived. Nothing like a new food to try. Sydney & I immediately ate it straight from the box. Tasty even without any milk.  Great first impression.

Kellogg’s version of granola has 50% less fat than other leading brands of granola. Granola is something I can remember my Grandma & Mom making when I was younger. I LOVE granola. Even a few years ago I received an awesome recipe for homemade granola but it was not Weight Watcher Point friendly.

So I was so excited the next morning when I ate a bowl of this granola with 1/2 cup skim milk. YUMMY! I could not tell that it was low-fat. It has a nice touch of honey in the flavor.. This cereal is not lacking in anything in my lowly opinion. I love it so much that I am on my THIRD BOX already. I have had this cereal for many breakfasts & a few quick dinners. It would be great with yogurt as a parfait.  I was also impressed how long I was full & satisfied after eating this cereal for breakfast.

Nutritional value for 3/4 cup: 190 calories, 3 grams fat & 5 grams fiber. 

Kellogg’s you really impressed me with this cereal. I am a Special K girl now for breakfast between the low-fat granola & the Special K protein meal bars! Keep up the great work~

PS I did find this cereal at Meijer. I have not had a chance to look at any other stores. Anyone else tried this yet?
