Molly Monday!

Well, operation Molly Wants A Dog has taken a slightly different turn. I am still working hard towards my mini goal (which is now only 9 pounds away! I’m almost half way there!) but we were given the opportunity to rescue this little guy and we jumped at the chance.
He is a Boston Terrier which is a breed I have always loved. His name is Winston and he will be 3 months old tomorrow. So far things are going amazingly well. Our kids all love him (and so do we!) I must admit, my eating went down the tubes a little over the weekend. Something about the relief of thinking “I already have the dog so I can stop eating so perfectly” started creeping into my brain.
So, today is back to it after a 3 day hiatus of no points counting. I really need some new strategies. I thought it would be neat for anyone who reads Kristen’s blog to share your best strategies for weight loss and motivation. It can be anything from how you make yourself drink your water before you watch TV in the morning to making sure your sodium count is low before weigh in day. Leave a comment with your best strategies!! We (and by “we” I am including myself!!!) can all benefit from the ideas that work for you!
Happy strategizing!!

Scout’s motto is good for us doing WW too…be prepared!! I take portion controlled (points known) items with me in the car, and have them with me at work! I get bored with water (yeah, I know…I’m weird!) so I always have the Crystal Light (cherry pomegranite is my fave!!!) packets with me so I can kick it up a knotch when I’m away from home.
The biggest thing I did during my really rough times was plan out my whole day (the sandwich, the fruit, the salad, the snack, the chicken and broccoli for dinner) and write it down in advance! Strange, I know, but wrote my plan down in my tracker and I just highlighted them after I ate them! That way, I had plotted out my strategy for the whole day, and knew I had it all accounted for! And if I was “over”, I knew I would have to pump it up with some exercise to make up for the overage or the unplanned items I had stuffed in my face.
We don’t plan to fail, but sometimes we do fail to plan! If you think about things in advance, you can plan for them, but if you don’t think about them until it “happens”, then life will happen to you…in a big (and sometimes very unhealthy!) way!
Hope that helps a little Kristen!

Your puppy is adorable! Congratulations! I had a Boston for 15 years and he was the best dog ever.

Molly,
The baby is adorable. What’s it’s name? You know my doggie is old and can’t exercise with me anymore so I can’t wait to get my new puppy next year…that is if they find a mate for mommy. Keep us posted to your success and to puppy’s growth.
