Run Baby Run

This morning was Megan’s first day back in preschool which meant first day back to the gym for me since before Christmas break. Whohoooo!
Before we even left, my plan was to run. I have missed running even though I have been working out at home consistently. My goal was to run 3 or 4 miles. When I got to the gym, I was worried that all of the treadmills would bee full because I couldn’t find a parking place. Eek. Thankfully there was one lone treadmill waiting for me when I got inside.
I find it interesting that the first mile or mile and a half seems to be so hard for me. It is such a mental block but I refused to quit. I am thankful that I had been working out at home or I don’t think there would have been anyway that I could have ran like I did.
I just kept telling myself that I only had to run 3 miles. Once I hit 3 I refused to stop until I got to 4 miles. I love that runner’s high. It hit about 2.5 miles. Honestly, I feel like a rock star. I am so glad that I am back to running. Hopefully sickness & my schedule will allow for at least 2 or 3 runs a week.
I signed up for the 5K at the Indy Mini. So I have until May. I know that I can run it but I want to work on my speed until then. I want this race to be my best time. So that is the goal that I am working for now.

Way to go woman! It was so great to see you all last Saturday morning! I always leave the center feeling better than what I did coming in! You guys are awesome!
