Bring it on 2010!

So far, 2010 has been all about making changes in the way I think about food and eating and exercise and moving. My Daddy always used to tell me “if you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.” Well, in 2009, I always did what I’d always done so I always got what I’d always gotten. Translation: I weighed exactly the same in January 2009 as I did in January 2010.
Depressing? Yes.
However, I do have the ability to step back and say “at least I didn’t gain.” But, my goal was to lose…not to maintain. I tell myself I’m just practicing for when I do meet my goals. I will be really good at maintaining then!
One thing that has really helped me these last few days and I think will continue to help is a neat little calendar from Spark People. If any of you have never seen Spark People then stop whatever you’re doing (after you’re done reading this, that is) and go there now. It is amazing (and FREE!) Anyway, the calendar is really helpful in trying to make small daily changes that will really add up by the end of the month! I thought I’d share it with you today so you can benefit from it as well!
