Somewhere in the world it is still Monday

So much for my perfect streak of Monday posting! We’ve entered that time of year I like to refer to as the time in which time stands still and simultaneously goes so fast we can’t figure out where it went. You know that feeling when you’re driving somewhere and you get there and all of a sudden it occurs to you that you have no idea how you got there? You kind of get out of the car and thank God you didn’t drive into oncoming traffic or hit a random pedestrian or something?
That’s me on January 1. Stumbling into the light, picking wayward wrapping paper out of my hair, blinking hard and trying to figure out how I got here. (and hoping I didn’t run down any pedestrians!)
This year, let’s make a pact. Let’s try NOT to forget about all the foods we put in our mouths (but not stress about them either) and let’s enjoy the holidays and our loved ones! This year, let’s also remember the fun details in the season (not the least of which, the birth of Jesus) and not just the hectic shopping/traveling/dealing with difficult family members.
After all, as soon as January 1 hits, we’ll have 11 1/2 months to recover before next Christmas!
