Feeling Motived & Some Random Observations

First some random observations
- I really might get in to this running thing after all. Wouldn’t that be funny. I am loving and I mean LOVING all of the calories I am burning even though the scales aren’t showing it. On Monday with my five mile run, I burnt 662 calories! I was shocked. So that would be 6 APs. OK. Now I only get 18 daily points. So earning SIX extra points is a HUGE deal. Can you tell I was excited? I didn’t eat all six extra points but I did eat a few of them.
- Running burns a lot more calories than working out on the elliptical. Now these are just averages and rough estimates. But for every mile I run, I burn around 110 calories. On the elliptical, I only burn 75 calories.
- On Monday, I decided to pick up my speed. Looking back, I really think I might have been running too slow. I didn’t bump up the speed to a lightening fast pace. I just shaved about 40 seconds off per mile. I was able to keep up that pace today also. For one of the three miles that I ran today, I shaved another 20 seconds off. Not too shabby and a little surprising to me.
Yesterday, I went to the Y and got in four miles on the elliptical. I had planned on five miles but my legs were feeling a little more weary than I thought was good. Today, I had a “short” run. It is funny to me that now I am thinking a three mile run is a short run! HA! Not too long ago, I was thinking that three miles sounded like a long distance. My trainer, aka Chris, has advised that I need to run three miles tomorrow. This evening three miles sounds like a LONG run. I am sore tonight.
Last weekend I was trying to think what I could do to get motivated again. I know that we all through different seasons in our weight loss journey. I just haven’t been enthusiastic and motivated. So I talked it over with Chris. I decided that I wanted to start attending meetings again. I really credit my meeting attendance as a huge factor in my success. I haven’t been able to attend a meeting since I hit goal and started working for Weight Watchers. I work the meeting that I attended as a member. I have picked Wednesday nights as the night that I will do to a meeting. It works with our schedule. I can “hand” the girls off to Chris after Sydney’s dance class. I am still going to weigh-in on Saturday mornings. I attended my first meeting tonight. I think it is just what I have been missing.
I am signing off for the night. Count those points & pick filling foods.

good timing for me to read this post of you and your motivation. I was just seconds ago scouring the kitchen for something sweet to eat! I was planning to back in after the kids went to bed and get something. Now, I will not. Because of you.
Pink petunia!

Instead of vegging on the couch tonight—I got on the exercise bike that sits in the living room watching me sit on the couch—and road 3 miles and burned 152 calories!!! That’s a lot for me and my legs but they aren’t too sore. I’m so proud of myself!! And I’m proud of you—just think you’re a runner!!
