My New Favorite Food

I have talked about Greek yogurt in the past. I fell in love with Oikos’ Greek yogurt. Not long after I discovered Oiko’s yogurt at Meijer, it disappeared off the store shelves. I was really disappointed because I really enjoyed the taste of the Greek yogurt. Much to my delight, on Saturday when I was at Meijer, I spotted a new Greek yogurt at Meijer.
I purchased Chobani’s Blueberry non-fat Greek yogurt. I was so excited to taste this. The fruit is on the bottom like other popular yogurt brands. The Chobani’s yogurt was cheaper than the Oiko’s yogurt that I had purchased before. Meijer actually had several different varieties of Chobani’s non-fat Greek yogurt. I also bought the peach and it is on my menu for tomorrow.
If you had not tried Greek yogurt before, you are in for a treat. It is creamier than I can even explain. Tart and refreshing. Depending on my mood, I sometimes add a little non-calorie sweetener or I eat it as is and tart.
I checked Chobani’s website www.chobani.com and they have a product locator feature. I thought it was interesting that Meijer wasn’t even listed as a store carrying Chobani’s Greek yogurt. Their site lists several other varieties including strawberry that I cannot wait to track down.
One thing that impressed me besides the great taste and texture is the amount of protein in one serving of this yogurt. 14 grams! That is more than 2 ounces of low-fat cheese. Nutritional information for 6 ounces: 140 calories, 0 grams fat, 0 grams fiber.
Chobani’s yogurt is on my grocery list for this next week. I can’t wait to buy more~

my husband and I tried these and were not impressed. I love the idea of it…the flavor was “ok” but if I remember correctly, it was too many points for it not to be a full serving of dairy.
