Great Christmas Gift

We just had our family Christmas with my Mom, step-dad (Al), my sister, brother & sister-in-law and us on New Year’s Day. My Mom & Al gave me a gift that I am so excited about. It is the Complete Book of Running. I am excited to start reading it (when I find a few free minutes). I am hoping this will give me some much needed inspiration.
My Mom & Al wrote a quote in the front of the book that really has been on my mind since they gave me the book. It says

Just reading that quote makes me feel better. Like I said yesterday, I don’t have any idea why I signed up for the mini. I have always had this idea that I wanted to run a half-marathon. But now that I have done it, started some training, regressed in my training, and now am trying to get back to it, I am doubting my decision and my ability.
But I will do it. I keep telling everyone that I know that I am running the Indy Mini. Not that I have a big ego or any belief that I am doing anything special but it is accountability. I even went as far as to tell everyone in our Christmas letter that we sent out that I was running this year’s Indy Mini. So now I have to run it. No backing out baring no injuries. (And no, I am not to the point that I am hoping to get injured to get myself out of it.)
Tomorrow I will be getting in some sort of exercise. It might be a stint on the elliptical then run on Monday. We shall see…….
