Finding the Time & Success

I think I have found my biggest obstacle in my training for the mini. Finding the time to run. Friday, I had great plans to run late. We had company coming. I thought that after they left, I could hop on the treadmill for a quick run. Ha! I already knew that there was no way I would get a run in yesterday. The day was jammed pack from sunrise to sunset.
So my plan is to get a run in this afternoon. I wish I was far enough along in my training to go for a run outside today. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. Who would have thought in November?
OK, enough about the running…..
Friday morning I weighed in. I was down a pound. I was so excited for two main reasons: 1) I had started running more consistently. 2) TOM was due any time.
I am downing the water like crazy. I have noticed that I am so thirsty the last few days. I don’t know if it is because I started running. Don’t worry, I am keeping a close eye on it.
I was thinking of how many diets, I had tried and failed. Too many to list let alone count. With every failure, it was more painful and devastating. I think too many times, after a failure, we don’t pick ourselves up off the floor and try again. We let a failure derail us from our success. Maybe we have “messed up” one meal or hour or even five minutes, then we throw in the towel for the day. We let that one small slip up, derail our success. That one mistake in choices, leads us down a road that last for a day or a couple of days or even a week. Worst case scenario is when we turn our backs and never return to the lifestyle we were working so hard on. When we make these mistakes, it is important that we don’t “set up camp and plan on never going back”.
My friend, Alicia, found a great quote that goes along with my thoughts that I wanted to share.
Whenever you fail, remember:The greatest quarterbacks complete only six of 10 passes. The best basketball players make only 50% of their shots. The top oil companies, with all their geologists, drill 10 dry holes for every wet one.And even the most successful actors flunk 29 auditions for a television commercial before they land one.”

I needed that quote today!! I feel like I derailed yesterday–actually I didn’t, I only used 7 of my extra points but it was with carbs and that always makes me feel guilty. I have a birthday party to go to this afternoon so I’m going to try my best to eat the healthiest choices there. I have to brag that I didn’t eat one piece of halloween candy so that’s a plus!!!
Keep up the great work!! You’ll get your running in. My plans are to move more this week.

Great quote! I also needed it. I tend to think I have failed on this journey because I struggle so hard to stay on track but eventhough I’m not where I want to be I’m also not where I was so thats always a plus. Great job with the running! Stay strong!
