Create A Meal-Stir Fry

Filed under Food by at 8:22 am on Oct 03 2008

Friday night when grocery shopping, I stumbled upon this frozen goodie. Since starting Weight Watchers, I have tried to stay away from some prepackaged items. I know that I can make a stir-fry just as easy but not necessarily as quick. I try to have something in the crock pot or easy to fix on Sundays when we get home from church. This Sunday Chris wanted to go for a run as soon as he got home from church. I wanted to fix a quick meal so Megan could get down for a nap. I grabbed this frozen meal kit to make.

I picked out the Green Giants’ Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Kit.  It was easy to fix. You add 3/4 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts. You cook that then add the meal kit which includes sugar snap peas, carrots, pineapple & red bell peppers in a tangy sweet & sour sauce.

I thought that there was too much sauce. I would have added some frozen broccoli if I had any. Chris & the girls really liked it.

Nutritional information for 1 cup prepared including chicken: 240 calories, 7 grams fat, 3 grams fiber.  I think the added broccoli would have made the meal even better.

I will buy this again for those quick needed meals when it would have been easy to grab something not so good for us.

We tried this recently, too. The family loved it. I did add broccoli to mine. Made it better & also stretches the meal to feed our growing boys. Served it with brown rice. Great for when you need a quick meal!
