Almonds

I love almonds. I ate a ton back when I was on the Atkin’s Diet some time ago. I have a major portion control when it comes to any type of nuts. This isn’t anything new but I had a coupon and had a craving for some nuts. LOL.  I snagged a container of almonds from Blue Diamond.

The thing that really interested me is the “portion control” system that Blue Diamond has created. On the side of the container, there are markings showing the serving sizes. So you can pour out one serving size and see how much a serving size is. For me it was great in the concept but didn’t work as well as I had hoped. I still didn’t pay as much attention as I should have to the number of servings. :::sigh:::

I picked up the Oven Roasted Sea Salt. Nutritional Information for 1 ounce (24 almonds) 170 calories, 15 grams fat, 3 grams fiber.

Just remember that almonds have the heart healthy fat.

I will buy these again just not on a regular basis because I didn’t control my portions like I needed. I am interested to try out the other varities Blue Diamond offers in flavors: No Salt, Vanilla  Bean & Cinnamon Brown Sugar.

Blue Diamond has some of the best almond flavors. I love their wasabi almonds, smokehouse almonds and the garlic and onion almonds….they are great! It was hard to just have one serving though…

I live in TN and we have single servings of almonds sold by Blue Diamond. I see them in Walgreens but not with the other snacks. They are usually in the isle with single serve candy bars. I just keep my back to the candy and hold my breath so I can’t ev ensmel lit. (l.o.l.)
I like the whole natural ones. I have a skinny cow ice cream sandwich, a T. of ff Cool Whip, a drizzle of sf Hersheys choc or strawberry syrup and just a couple of chopped almonds. It is only 2 points for the ice cream sandwich. I also have made a split a banana if I need a fruit. banana split
