Pink Plaster

OK. Do not laugh at the name. I know once you taste this unbelievable dessert, you won’t be laughing. My good friend and Weight Watcher buddy, Debbie, gave me the recipe. Debbie’s children named this recipe when they were children. It is a staple at family gatherings and holiday celebrations.  Debbie had brought Pink Plaster to a work carry-in and I couldn’t get enough. (pre-Weight Watcher days). This is a great recipe to make when you need a dessert and only have short notice. You can keep all of the ingredients on hand.

Pink Plaster

3 ounces chopped walnuts

14 ounce can fat free sweetened condensed milk

20 ounce can crushed pineapple in juice, drained very well

21 ounce can light cherry pie filling

8 ounce fat free Cool Whip, thawed

Mix all ingredients in bowl. Chill for several hours. Serve cold.

NI for 1/2 cup : 160 calories, 3.38 grams fat, 1.12 grams fiber.

Note: The original recipe called for 1 cup of walnuts. I reduced that amount down because I was not willing to use that many points for a dessert. This is a super sweet dessert. I had forgot how sweet it was. I was afraid that 1/2 cup wouldn’t be enough. But is is sweet enough that it curbs that craving. It received a standing “O” from my sister, Kerri.

Thanks Debbie for sharing one of your family favorites!

This is a favorite at our parties too but I;m pretty sure my mom uses the full fat versions of everything. I don’t think our recipe has the sweetened condesnsed milk but I’ll have to double check. Around here we call it “cherry fluff”!

Yep – we always called it Fluff too.
