Red Light Foods

At the meetings I have worked this week, I have heard each leader talk about “red light” foods. I have been paying attention while working. Last night I finally decided that I would “write down” my red light foods. These are foods that cause me problems. I have to be very careful and be on my guard. My first thought was that all foods are red light foods for me lately. But these are the ones that cause me the most problems
- Dove milk chocolate
- potato chips & dip
- mashed potatoes
- string cheese
- tortilla chips & salsa
- my Mom’s Cuban Water Bread hot from the oven
- butternut squash fries
I have a few yellow light foods. These are foods that can cause problems for me some times.
- roasted veggies
- zucchini fries
- rice
- WW snack cakes
- bread
I am really surprised looking at the list. I knew that a few of the foods that cause me problems weren’t bad food. They are food that are good for me but I am bad about controlling the portions. Hmmm.
I did go to the doctor. Now I have an antibiotic so hopefully I will be feeling well soon. My plan is to get back to Turbo Jam on Monday. I think if I am working out regularly again that my eating will get back on track faster. At least that has been my experience in the past. After working out so hard, I find that I don’t want to blow it by eating too much.
I am going to start a new challenge on April 1st. No Foolin’. It is going to be exactly like February’s challenge. You need to keep track of the number of days you are OP (On-program). If you count points this means, you need to keep track how many days you actually track your points and stay within your points. If you are Core, this means you only eat between hunger & fullness. Not stuffed & miserable. I am trusting everyone to be honest with their reporting. If you slip up one day that is no reason to throw in the towel. You just need to get right back on track. On April 1st, you will post on the blog entry if you are competing in the challenge by posting a blog entry. (there is no need to email me) You only need to list your name & city. At the end of the month, you will email me the total number of days that you following the rules for the challenge. The participant with the top number of days OP will be the winner. If I have multiple participants with the same number of days OP, I will draw a winner from those individuals. I am not quite sure what the prize will be but I will think of something good.
Hope everyone has a great day. I am off to get another cup of coffee so I can make it through the day.
